The logistics platform myDHLi convinces more and more users. Optimum user experience and convenience is key in DHL Freight´s digitization strategy.
myDHLi, the digital solution also for road freight
The integrated online platform for sea and air freight clients myDHLi is now also available for road freight. The roll-out starts in Turkey. The country by the Bosporus has in this case been strategically chosen for the start. It is considered the gateway to Asia and is with its dynamic market of great importance for logistics. No wonder it´s a starting point for more digitization in logistics.
myDHLi digitalizes our core business and creates more transparency and orientation for the client. Via the platform, clients can very conveniently and easily not only book shipments but, above all, also track them.

Digitization provides transparency, tracking and more convenience
The very rapid rise in booking and the international expansion of myDHLi has also given a boost to the further technical development of the system. For example, the following functions are new or optimized:
- The integrated option “Save and Edit”: This makes it possible to save the transport offers and to continue to process them later.
- myDHLi Reports: makes for even better shipment transparency, from picking up until delivery. Up-to-date shipment data allow further analyses.
- The function “Quote + Book” is based on utilization analyses: design and user experience are now at the latest level. In that way, users can at any time save unfinished booking processes, call them up again during the validity period of the offer and continue the booking. In addition, the option offers a comparison between other available transport options.
- The new “multi-channel approach” ensures that all information is available bundled in one place. This applies regardless of the channels used by the client.
- By means of an “Alert function”, myDHLi proactively reports which shipment requires more attention.
- Built-in social media features like “follow” and “share” simplify communications along the supply chain
Logistics could do with some more digitization
myDHLi sets new standards in the digitization of logistics. The portal has now been online for a year and has been extremely well received ever since. “By the end of 2020 we had 1,000 customers on the platform. Now, just four months later, we have reached a new high with 3,000 customers spread across 62 countries using myDHLi as of today,” says Tim Scharwath, CEO Global Forwarding, Freight. In the first quarter of 2021, this meant an increase in online bookings of around 56 percent compared to the previous year. This is not surprising: The portal can be completely customized according to customer requirements.
myDHLi: modular structure, easy tracking
The portal´s user-friendly, modular structure provides for an interface that can be created according to individual preferences. Logistics professionals can choose, for example, whether they only want to use “Quote + Book” or additional functions. You get a quick insight into the services you have booked. This includes shipment tracking, document management, myDHLi reports and myDHLi analytics. With the current update, insights into running times and unit costs are now possible. That creates additional transparency.
myDHLi is now the one-stop platform for all customers of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. The portal will continue to grow over the next few years. With new features, more languages and optimizations myDHLi will continue to revolutionize the industry.
The needs and experience of our customers are at the heart of myDHLi. In light of demand and feedback of the myDHLi users, we have decided to make myDHLi also available to our road freight customers.”
Uwe Brinks, CEO DHL Freight
This virtual event on digitization in logistics was a great success
Digitization is one of DPDHL´s most important strategic pillars. The digital event “myDHLi Digital Summit” at the DHL Innovation Center in Troisdorf focused for the first time on the rapid development of the platform. It set a shining example of the need for the digital revolution in logistics. The “myDHLi Digital Summit” has been successfully established and will now take place annually – stay tuned.
More than 1,000 journalists, customers and employees worldwide took part in the premiere of this digital event. Tim Scharwath and Uwe Brinks explained the new myDHLi functions via presentations, live demos and pre-recorded sessions. In addition, experts explored the opportunities and perspectives of digitization in exciting panel discussions. The next event is already being planned for 2022. You won´t want to miss it!
Digitization and sustainability go together well
myDHLi strengthens DHL's sustainability strategy: since January 2021, DHL Global Forwarding has been neutralizing the CO2 emissions of all LCL ocean freight shipments by using sustainable bio-marine fuels. Customers do not incur any extra costs. For all other modes of transport you can choose an emissions offset.
