In 2021, DHL Freight for the first time received four ISO certifications from DEKRA. Now the annual recertification was due – which we passed again. For you as a customer, this means first and foremost certainty: You can be certain that we are transporting your goods throughout Europe conscientiously – and with the highest quality standards, the best working conditions, and sustainable solutions.
The DEKRA certification body has issued a total of four ISO certificates to DHL Freight in 2021. Since then, annual checks have been carried out to ensure that the high international industry standards are consistently met – these assessments are known as recertification. It gives customers the assurance that they can rely on their logistics service provider – year after year. Now it was time for the 2023 recertification.
The reassessment covered our four ISO certifications:
- ISO 9001 (quality management)
- ISO 45001 (occupational safety and health protection)
- ISO 14001 (environmental management)
- ISO 50001 (energy management)
And just like last year, we passed it in full!
The global crises of recent years have been and continue to be associated with many challenges for logistics. We are proud that in these difficult times we can meet the high standards of health protection, sustainability and quality, and offer our customers the required security.
Daniel Schümmer Global Head of Certification Management DHL Freight
The four certificates issued by DEKRA’s independent certification board apply to all divisions of DHL Freight, to all 54 European DHL Freight units as well as the DHL Freight special units such as DHL FoodLogistics or DHL Global Event Logistics and the Unitrans network partners in Germany. In total, 313 locations are properly certified.
What the Certifications Signify for Our Customers
ISO certificates provide security. They show you that companies like DHL Freight meet high international industry standards and take due care of your concerns. ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, has developed many relevant certifications for the logistics industry. Among them are those for which we have now been repeatedly recognized.
Highest Quality for Your Demands
To deliver the best work for you, we rise to the challenge every day – ISO 9001 for quality management is proof of this. Clear goals, measurable results and efficient use of resources are the principles of quality management. We continuously reflect on opportunities and risks within and outside the industry and optimize our processes so that you always benefit from reliable logistics services – even in global crises with fragile supply chains.
Reliable Solutions with Occupational Safety and Health Protection
One prerequisite for quality is the protection of our employees: Not only the COVID 19 pandemic has shown how quickly good health can change. But viruses are not the only potential threat.
Traffic on the road, work in the warehouse or on the works premises poses risks of accidents. With ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, we document our commitment to reducing the risk for our employees and ensuring their safety. You benefit from the high performance of our specialists and their dependability in and after crises.
Achieving the Goal Sustainably
The climate crisis in particular shows that we must always think globally in our approach to logistics. ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management certify companies committing themselves to the sustainability of their solutions – and thus not only have the welfare of their customers in mind, but also the well-being of the planet.
Consequently, you can be sure that you are collaborating with a partner that does its utmost to use resources efficiently and keep the burden on the environment to a minimum.
Secure, Efficient, Sustainable
The customer is at the heart of our work – and all our structures and processes are designed to provide you with the best possible logistics services. The recertification of our ISO certificates emphasizes the high standards we set for our work. We demonstrate how logistics can be today: secure, efficient, and sustainable.
