Consistently High Standards: DHL Freight Remains Four Times ISO Certified

We at DHL Freight are proud that our continuous striving for the highest standards in our value creation has once again been rewarded with four of the prestigious ISO certifications from DEKRA. Every year, this reaffirms to both you and us that we meet the highest quality standards, offer excellent working conditions, and get your goods to their destination sustainably.

These Four ISO Certificates Are Confirmed in 2024

DHL Freight has four ISO certifications since 2021. In addition to the global ISO certification, we also hold regional certifications according to IFS Logistics, GDP, SQAS and other standards. The awards apply not only to DHL Freight worldwide, but also to DHL FoodLogistics, Gerlach, DHL Global Event Logistics, Saloodo!, as well as to our Unitrans network partners.

The independent certification body DEKRA conducts an annual review of the certified companies. In the case of DHL Freight, recertification of these ISO certificates was due in January 2024:

  • ISO 9001 (quality management)
  • ISO 45001 (occupational safety and health protection)
  • ISO 14001 (environmental management)
  • ISO 50001 (energy management)

The review process and the recertification ensure that we continue to meet high international industry standards. The reaffirmation of our certificates gives our customers the assurance that they can always count on the quality of our services.

We are proud to have received four ISO certificates from independent auditors, confirming that our processes meet international standards for quality and sustainability.

Real Added Value for our Customers and Employees

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has established several meaningful certifications for the logistics industry – including those we have again achieved. These certifications provide confidence that we consistently adhere to a wide range of standards when delivering our services.

Highest Quality of Service – ISO 9001

Clear objectives, quantifiable results, and efficient resource utilization are the cornerstones of quality management. ISO 9001 ensures that we live and implement these standards. We evaluate and optimize our processes to provide reliable logistics services. Despite geopolitical crises that make supply chains uncertain, such as in 2023, we maintain our commitment to quality.

Safety at Work and Health Protection for Our Staff – ISO 45001

Delivery quality cannot be achieved without committed – and healthy – employees. Everyone benefits from the highest standards of occupational health and safety. ISO 45001 confirms that we take all necessary measures to improve the safety of our employees on the road, in the warehouse and on the factory premises, and to protect their health.

Sustainability – ISO 14001 und 50001

Transporting goods involves the consumption of resources and the emission of pollutants. However, logistics is the backbone of the global and regional economy. At DHL Freight, we recognize our environmental responsibility and seek to operate sustainably and reduce the environmental impact of our network.

Our voluntary commitment to achieve zero logistics-related emissions by 2050 and to reduce our carbon footprint by 30% by 2030 is underpinned by ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management. These certifications distinguish companies like ours that are dedicated to sustainable solutions, benefiting not only our customers but also the planet.

Considering Standards and Objectives Holistically

Occupational health and safety promote quality standards, efficiency enhances sustainability – the individual standards addressed by the various ISO certifications cannot be met separately. At DHL Freight, we go beyond individual certifications and have been actively engaged in recent years in implementing the Integrated Management System (IMS) as a matrix certification for all DHL Freight Global locations. The IMS bundles all our corporate goals and controls the associated processes.

With this and the renewal of our ISO certificates, we demonstrate our high standards of service to our customers and show how up-to-date logistics can work. We want to offer you the best possible logistics services now and in the future – reliable, efficient, and sustainable.

[Safer, more efficient and even fuel-saving – these are the benefits promised by platooning technology. However, whether we will soon see rows of trucks driving closely behind each other on motorways is not only a question of technology, but especially of politics.
