New Heavy Truck Registration within the European market Between January and November 2017 the market for heavy goods vehicles in the EU grew by 1.1 percent compared with the same timeframe in 2016. A decline in August was short-lived, during September the trend resumend at a high level. In absolute numbers, the most new registrations were registered in:

  • Germany (60,274 new registrations, +1.4 percent)
  • France (40,634 new registrations, +6.8 percent)
  • United Kingdom (33.267 new registrations, -6.0 percent)

A closer view on November

During the November 2017, new HGV registrations rose by 2.2 percent in the EU compared to the same month 2016. In absolute numbers, the first three were as follows:

  • Germany (5,554 new registrations)
  • France (4,168 new registrations)
  • United Kingdom (3,793 new registrations)

Compared to the November 2016, the biggest loosers were:

  • Romania (-45.7 percent)
  • Hungary (-34.0 percent)
  • Slovakia (-22.4 percent)
