Partial Truckload (PTL)

What is Partial Truckload?

Partial truckload is a shipment that falls between Less Than Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL). This means, the shipment is large to be called LTL and not large enough to occupy the whole capacity of a truck.

PTL can be considered an option under specific circumstances. For instance, a shipper needs significant space inside the truck but at the same time, he does not need to fill the truck entirely.

The freight that does not fully occupy all the space in a vehicle is ptl.
