Order Sequence

What does Order Sequence mean?

Order sequence is essential to ensure that jobs are produced correctly. Usually the delivery item contains a sequence indicator that indicates the order sequence in which the delivery orders are given to the picking department so that they always arrive at the respective machine in the correct order.

Based on an order sequence concept, the order sequence is therefore particularly important because it defines the exact production sequence in which the products are produced in the final assembly. The sequence and content of the order is then not changed - a fact which, while reducing flexibility, also enables logistics and production processes to be optimised across the entire value network.
