Order Picking Technology

What is an Order Picking Technology?

An order picking technology refers to the technical equipment in the warehouse that is required for picking. The picking technology is a combination of different systems that serve order processing, direct system control and warehouse management.

Direct system control includes all subordinate control elements that serve to operate the picking technology, such as sensors, actuators and bus systems. The warehouse management system usually consists of a warehouse management computer, which takes over and monitors the warehouse occupancy, inventory management, warehouse configuration, material movement and storage zone management.
