What is Logistics 4.0?

Logistics 4.0 is the networking and integration of logistics processes. It is basically the effects of Industry 4.0 on logistics i.e. the networking and interlocking of customers, objects, processes and supply chain partners through information and communication technologies to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of a company.

As a result of Logistics 4.0, supply chain is increasingly becoming smarter, more networked and more technologically advanced. Its implementation allows the integrated elements to work independently.

These self-managing processes are called smart or intelligent because they communicate with each other, make decisions, learn from each other and control logistics processes. For this reason, Logistics 4.0 mostly results in greater transparency, leaner processes and a lower error rate.
