ground shipping

What is ground shipping?

Ground shipping refers to any shipping that involves goods being transported via roads or rails.

When shipping domestically, ground shipping is typically the most cost-effective and convenient method of delivering your shipment. Ground shipments are often routed through freight firms, which coordinate the movement of smaller and bigger trucks throughout the country to ship and deliver your products. Ground shipping often takes longer than overnight or second-day air shipping because freight vehicles make many stops at distribution facilities around the country to drop off and pick up multiple packages.

With ground shipment, the time required for delivery is entirely dependent on the distance between the sender and receiver.
