Top employee engagement as a consequence of a top corporate culture and employee development are part of DHL Freight's “FREIGHT2025” strategy. The Top Employers Institute has now recognized the road freight specialist as Top Employer Europe in 2021 and in five EU countries for a second time running.

Top of the tops: winning recognition as a Top Employer Global

DHL Freight has been recognized as Top Employer 2021 in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden, as well as in Europe. Comprising DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Freight, the business unit has won the Top Employer Global 2021 Award, something that only 16 companies worldwide have achieved. To qualify for the Top Employer Global Award, companies need to have demonstrated exceptional performance in strategy and human resources best practices in at least 20 countries. DHL Global Forwarding, Freight achieved this in a total of 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America, the Middle East and Europe. The company received all three awards in 2020 – and now in 2021 for the second time in a row.

The Top Employers Institute was founded 30 years ago. In the 1990s, it focused on publishing technical literature. Since 2013, the company, which is headquartered in the Netherlands, has expanded worldwide. In 2021, 1691 companies in 120 countries and regions achieved certification. Numerous processes in the areas of personnel acquisition, management and promotion are put under the microscope for this purpose.
