Storage Types

What Types of Storage are there?

The term storage types refer to the different forms of storage based on their primary function. To name a few, these are types of storage: procurement warehouses, transshipment warehouses and Distribution warehouses.

While the main function of procurement warehouses is to provide sufficient storage capacity to accommodate all goods, transshipment warehouses are suitable for the short-term acceptance of goods with a high turnover rate. Distribution warehouses in turn serve the flow of goods to the customer or recipient.

A distinction can be made between the way in which the goods are stored. Whether free storage, block storage or high-bay storage, there are numerous ways of storing goods. They differ in terms of construction, available space and the type of the goods to be stored.
