Storage Location Allocation

What does Storage Location Allocation mean?

There are different possibilities of storage location allocation - including fixed storage location allocation, lateral distribution of an article over different aisles of a warehouse and free storage location allocation. Usually it is carried out after the goods received in the goods receipt of the warehouse have been identified and is carried out by the warehouse management system. The storage location allocation is an important factor for a safe and fast handling in the warehouse, because only with its help items can be reliably put into storage and removed again if necessary.
