Said to Contain (STC)

What is Said to Contain?

Said to Contain is a statement made by a shipping company on a Bill of Lading (BOL), describing in detail the type of shipment loaded on a vessel in a sealed container. Moreover, the STC document serves as a caveat for the carrier that he has no knowledge of what is loaded in the container before shipment.
