Pick-by-Light

What does Pick-by-Light mean?

Pick-by-Light is the paperless method for sorting and assembling product. The picking is carried out by transmitting orders and quantities via a compartment display which is attached directly to the picking compartment.

On the compartment where the order is located, a light will illuminate to signals the order location, number and quantity. After the order is picked, the operator switches of the light as an indication of picked orders.

The advantage of this picking method is that the personnel does not need any additional equipment. Furthermore, the system is independent of language barriers, which makes it possible to quickly train new employees. The optical display ensures that the locations can be found quickly., and the error rate is correspondingly low.
