On-site logistics

What is On-site logistics?

On-site logistics, also known as plant logistics, refers to all goods and material movements that take place within a company's premises. The term was coined in order to differentiate it from goods traffic outside the company. The task of on-site logistics is the control, implementation and organisation of the material flow or transport of goods within a warehouse or company premises. On-site logistics therefore includes goods receiving, telematics, the storage system, robotics, picking software, sensor technology and goods issue. An important feature here is the interdisciplinary cooperation of providers from different areas.
