Just in Time Production

What is Just in Time Production?

Just in Time Production is a strategy in the production and material procurement of a company. It is a method used by manufacturing companies to reduce production time, and the response time from suppliers to customers.

Basically, the Just in Time Production is about designing the entire material flow in such a way that it is synchronised with the production process. This way, the entire value-added process can be kept leaner and reduce costs.

With this methodology, production materials are only delivered when a product has been ordered by a customer. This creates a low inventory level which enables companies to respond to any change in market needs faster than the competitors with high inventory level.
