Full Container Load (FCL)

What is FCL shipping?

Full Container Load is a shipment type where a cargo occupies the full size of a container. Sometimes the container may not be fully filled, but the rate is charged on the basis of a full container.

FCL is the standard form of shipping for a large cargo. The goods in the container are own by one shipper, which comes with one Bill of Lading (BOL).

When the container is loaded with different shipments from various shippers, this process is known as Less Than Container Load (LCL).

A shipment where a container is fully occupied by goods is called an FCL - Full Container Load transport.
