Free on Board (FOB)
What is Free on Board?
The term Free on Board is used to specify who bears the costs of shipment between a buyer and a seller from the point of departure. Once the shipment is on board a vessel, the buyer bears the risks and costs associated with the shipping.
The use of FOB term is strictly for goods transported through the sea or inland waterways.
