Free of Gas Declaration
What is Free of Gas Declaration?
Free of Gas Declaration is the process of ensuring that all containers entering the premises of a company do not pose a threat to the safety of employees. Generally, the company carries out inspection on all incoming trucks against the risk of suffocation, intoxication, poisoning, fire or explosion.
To minimise the risk of employees getting exposed to hazardous substances, all containers are inspected before they are allowed to unload on the company's compound. If there is no threat after inspection, the inspector issues the free on gas declaration which allows the container to be unloaded.
