Form-A
What is Form-A?
A Form-A is a written document or a certificate that proves the origin of goods from specific developing countries. This certificate is used for obtaining discounts or an exemption from tariff for exported goods to the European Union (EU) countries.
At a conference held at the United Nations (UN) on Trade and Development, developed countries were requested to support the integration of developing countries into the world economy. As a result of this, some developing countries receive Generalised System of Preference (GSP) from the EU and other developed countries.
For the EU, the Form-A is required to prove that goods receiving preferential status originate from the selected countries.
