DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid. It is a delivery agreement in which the seller assumes the responsibility for all the potential risks and costs associated with transporting goods until the buyer received the goods at the destination. The seller needs to pay for shipping costs, export and import duties, insurance, and other costs.
Practically, DDP is the same as Delivered at Place (DAP). The delivery rules benefit the buyers due to the bearing of risks and delivery responsibility that lie with seller. In turn, the buyers no longer have to incur any cost upon goods receipt.
