Automatic Small Parts Warehouse
What is an Automatic Small Parts Warehouse?
An automatic small parts warehouse is used to store small parts articles in a space-saving manner, making full use of the available space. As the name suggests, it is - unlike a high-bay warehouse - always automated. Due to its fast, flexible and reliable storage of goods in cartons and totes, it offers a high turnover rate, short access times and optimum use of space.
Different load handling devices ensure optimum handling of cartons and totes - and thus high storage density and maximum space efficiency. The controlled storage and retrieval operations are performed by shuttles or stacker cranes, which are usually operated via computer terminal. In this way, the required small parts automatically reach the employee who processes the order.
