DHL Freight is expanding its sustainable fleet. Five new all-electric Mercedes eActros 600 trucks are now on the road for DHL Freight in Würselen (north of Aachen, Germany). The vehicles will be deployed for short-haul transport, two on fixed routes, transporting shipments for a retailer of plumbing supplies and a fitness equipment manufacturer.
Together with its partner STG, DHL Freight continues to work on decarbonizing road transport. Two of the five eActros have DHL branding, and will be in permanent use for the Group. The other three trucks will be used as required, for both Freight and other customers. At night, the low-emission tractor units are mainly scheduled for regular service in the DHL network.

Christoph Franken, Network Manager at DHL Freight’s Würselen site explains: "It's great that STG has made such a significant investment – a perfect fit with our own sustainability roadmap. I am convinced that we are on the right track with the e-trucks."
The new trucks are now ready for loading at the Würselen terminal. Five new charging stations are also available, capable of charging a tractor unit in 90 minutes – with 100% green electricity.
