Rail Intermodal
What is Rail Intermodal?
Rail intermodal transportation is a technique of transporting freight on the ground that utilizes two modes: railroad and truck. Freight can be transported via trailers or containers; the container segment has grown to be the bigger and fastest expanding segment. During the long-haul of the move, the freight is transported via railroad, with local trucking (referred to as drayage) transporting the trailer or container to its final destination.
