What is Odette?

Odette International Ltd. is a non-profit organisation of several automobile associations and federations based in London, England. The name Odette originally stood for Organisation for Data Exchange by Tele Transmission in Europe. However, the full form is no longer used because the focus of the organisation's work has changed considerably over the years. Nowadays, Odette mainly promotes standards in the areas of electronic data interchange, logistics and partner relationship management. In the field of logistics, the standardised goods tags for deliveries to the production sites of car manufacturers, which Odette International Ltd. provides, are particularly worth mentioning in this context. This so-called Odette ID is used to clearly identify companies and facilities.
