A fixed date is when a fixed time is agreed upon when a transport order will be ready for loading or unloading the truck. Compliance with this date is then part of the contractual obligation to perform.
Fixed dates are more frequently agreed for unloading, less frequently for loading. In most cases, the agreed fixed date says something about the latest time by which the goods must be at the customer's premises. If the truck arrives earlier, this date is then considered to have been met. But there are also fixed dates where it is not allowed to arrive earlier with the goods. For a variety of reasons, the crane for unloading is ordered for a certain period of time, or a road must be blocked off so that the truck can pass.
Fixed dates are also assigned to ensure strict time slot management. This is intended to avoid waiting times at the loading ramp.
