Postage Paid
What does Postage Paid mean?
Postage paid is used to describe deliveries where the sender pays the freight costs (postage). Usually, when a package is paid by the sender, there is an indication on the envelope or box used in wrapping the package. Basically, it means that the costs for sending the package had been paid. Therefore, charges need not apply to the recipient.
In the transport and logistics industry, there is an incoterms rule covering the aspect of payment by the sender. Carriage Paid to is the incoterms rule that covers this payment. The rule stipulates that the seller is responsible for the cost of transporting goods to the buyer's named location.
