Distribution Centre

What is a Distribution Centre?

A distribution centre is a facility usually filled with goods available for distribution to various outlets. The distribution centre is also known as a fulfilment centre, a cross-dock facility and a package handling centre.

A company may have several distribution centres depending on the role set for each of them. While some companies may have one centre that performs several functions, others separate the function for each centre.
