Diesel Floater

What is the meaning of Diesel Floater?

A diesel floater is a counter to the fluctuation in the price of diesel. The costs of diesel fluctuate greatly thereby leading to an incalculable cost factor. To avoid continuous renegotiations in freight agreements because of the fluctuation, a floater was introduced.

Normally, the price calculated is agreed individually between the customer and the transport service provider. And, the valid diesel surcharge is shown as a separate item on the forwarding invoice.
