Batch size
What is Batch size?
Batch size refers to the quantity of items of a production order that are manufactured in one production stage as a closed batch, i.e. as a lot. The batch size thus corresponds to the number of items that are produced without interruption. In companies, the determination of the optimal batch size is important in this context: this is the ideal production quantity at which the capacity is utilised, the lead time is optimal and the production costs are minimal.
