Markus Voss Is the New CEO DHL Freight

Portrait of Markus Voss, CEO DHL Freight

There will be a change at the helm of DHL Freight. Markus Voss will succeed Uwe Brinks on September 1, 2025. Uwe Brinks has been with DHL Group for over 40 years and is now taking his well-deserved retirement. Markus Voss has over 20 years of experience in logistics and transportation and will focus on advancing standardization and digitalization at DHL Freight.

Markus Voss Succeeds Uwe Brinks

Markus Voss, formerly Chief Development Officer at DHL Supply Chain, will become the new CEO of DHL Freight on September 1, succeeding Uwe Brinks. Voss will report directly to Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, and will join this division’s management board. After more than 40 years with DHL Group, Uwe Brinks is retiring. During his nearly nine years as CEO of DHL Freight, Brinks played a pivotal role in establishing DHL Freight as a leading provider of road transport services in Europe.

Focus on Standardization and Digitalization

The change in management aims to promote DHL Freight’s growth by standardizing and digitalizing road freight transport. Markus Voss is well-suited for this role. During his 20-plus years at DHL, he has successfully led transformations in operations, IT, and digitalization.

Most recently, as Chief Development Officer at DHL Supply Chain, Markus Voss was responsible for sales and marketing as well as overseeing global teams in Service Logistics, Solutions Design, and all strategic growth products.

Change in Management Goes Hand in Hand with Strategic Realignment

In line with the personnel changes, DHL is restructuring its Management Board strategically. To this end, a new European Transportation Board is being established to strengthen cross-divisional collaboration in land transportation between DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Freight, and DHL Supply Chain. The goal is to provide customers with more integrated, efficient solutions and to unlock further growth opportunities. The European Transportation Board consists of the CEOs of DHL Global Forwarding Europe, DHL Freight, and DHL Supply Chain EMEA.

I am very pleased and honored to take on this new role in the company. Land transport is a crucial component in our customers’ supply chains. I look forward to the task of further advancing the initiated transformation process in digitalization, thereby enhancing efficiency, transparency, and quality for our customers. This way, we will unlock further growth opportunities for our business and strengthen our position as an important road freight provider both within and outside the company.
