In a diverse society, each and every individual contributes something to the common good and adds something new. It is no different in a company. That is why we at DHL Freight promote diversity for our mutual success. DHL Freight’s commitment is bearing fruit: Our Women@Freight campaign is one of the winners of the Impact of Diversity Awards 2024.
Inclusion and Diversity are Key Values at DHL Freight
The prestigious Impact of Diversity Award recognizes individuals, initiatives, and companies that propel diversity in all aspects of life in a unique and exemplary way. Such positive role models are important for the long-term promotion of diversity, equal opportunity, and participation.
In total, there were more than 200 applications for the awards. After a public vote, a 32-member jury from academia, business, associations, and initiatives selected the 16 winners in 16 categories, among them Age Inclusion, Contribution to LGBTQIA+, Best Diversity Campaign, Inclusive Workplace, or Ethnicity & Social inclusion.
The award ceremony was held in July at the Accenture Campus in the town of Kronberg im Taunus, Hesse, Germany. The keynote speech was delivered by Ferda Ataman, German Independent Federal Commissioner for Anti-Discrimination and Head of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency.
These important awards not only recognize the outstanding efforts of individual companies. They also send an important message: It pays to promote diversity. And protecting against discrimination is part of that.

Women@Freight – Visibility & Inspiration through Authentic Portraits of Women Employees
DHL Freight has won the Impact of Diversity Award in the category of Gender Inclusion. In this category, Impact of Diversity celebrates companies or projects that demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunity and gender balance, regardless of hierarchical levels.
This is exactly what we are doing at DHL Freight. The objective of our Women@Freight project is to create visibility and inspiration for gender inclusion through authentic portraits of female employees in both internal and external communications. We are also using our Freight Connections blog to promote gender inclusion with one or other post.
With our Women@Freight campaign, we show what is important at DHL Freight: You are welcome to develop yourself with us.

The special “Building Bridges” award at the 2024 Diversity Impact Awards went to Eintracht Frankfurt, a German Bundesliga football club that has for many years taken a clear stance against racism and antisemitism, setting an example for other sports and fan clubs. The eulogy for Eintracht Frankfurt was given by well-known German publicist and talk show host Michel Friedmann.
With the Impact of Diversity Award, we want to recognize outstanding individuals and initiatives that highlight the positive impact of diversity and inclusion on our society. Current developments in particular show us that it has never been more important to explain the value and impact of diversity and make it accessible to many people.

The Impact of Diversity Award
Since 2021, the Impact of Diversity Award has been honoring outstanding commitment to greater diversity in business and society, highlighting the many valuable contributions of people from various backgrounds. The Impact of Diversity Award & Think Tank brings together initiatives, political and academic experts, and business decision-makers. The common goal is to showcase the positive impact of diversity and inclusion on business and society, and to raise public awareness of the issue.
DHL Freight Also Receives an Internal Award for Inclusion
People are the key to DHL Group’s success: Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) always take center stage. We ensure that everyone at DHL Group and DHL Freight can contribute and we continuously work towards an inclusive and equitable work environment where everyone has the same opportunities to develop.
To support this development and provide valuable impetus, DHL Group in Germany recognizes valuable projects and initiatives relating to DEIB with an internal Inclusion Award. In 2024, the winning project came from DHL Freight. Two branches in Renningen (Baden-Württemberg) and Worms (Rhineland-Palatinate) submitted a joint application.
DHL Freight employees at these locations have come up with an impressive project that combines many different elements. In cooperation with two external partners, including Lebenshilfe, a German self-help association for people with mental disabilities, they have succeeded in recruiting qualified people with disabilities for DHL Group. At a time when there is a shortage of skilled workers, this is a particular plus for DHL Freight and also for our new colleagues, to whom we offer jobs with all the prerequisites for professional and personal development.
