Tracking and Tracing

What does Tracking and Tracing mean?

Tracking and tracing is a system used by carriers or courier companies to record the movement of parcels or items during transportation. At every processing location, the goods are identified and data relay to the central processing system. This data is then used to give status/update of the goods location to the shippers.

With the help of tracking, the carrier always knows the location of a truck during the shipment of goods. Tracking is also relevant in terms of safety, by creating difficulty for any attempt to steal trucks.
